This Silica based mineral is a form a Quartz, a transparent to opaque stone that’s naturally coloured by traces of Copper, Manganese, Titanium, and Iron.
The colours of Chalcedonies are a result of metallic impurities present during crystallisation so Chalcedony is found in a variety of colours, blue being one of the most common.
